Flavored with a generous amount of Pusser's Rum, about which Forbes writes, "Pusser's Rum is still made in the same way it was in the 1700's and is the most full-flavored, intense rum available anywhere".
For more than 300 years, from before the days of Nelson, wooden ships and iron men, Great Britain's Royal Navy issued a daily 'tot' of Pusser's Rum to all the men on board it's warships. This tradition carried forward from about 1655 until July 31, 1970 when the daily issue was stopped. Ten years later, Charles Tobias, Pusser's Founder, obtained the formula from the Royal Navy. Consequently, Pusser's was offered to the public commercially in 1979 for the first time in 300 years.
For almost three centuries, it's been Royal Navy tradition to bake rum cakes for Royal Family occasions, ships' commissionings, Christmas, and so forth. Pusser's Rum has always been the vital part of the mix because of it's exceptionally rich flavor.
