This shirt is a Pusser's classic. Tried, tested and refined from more than 20 years of use, there is not a better shirt for sailing time or for travel in the tropics. Cut from 100% Madras voile cotton, its fabric has a 'hand' and a texture rarely found in a casual shirt. In a good way, it's unlike any fabric you've ever worn. It's very light, almost gauzy, yet durable, airy and comfortable. A little salt spray, or a drenching from a tropical squall makes little difference as this shirt dries quickly. This is just about the only shirt our Chairman wears - and it's always the white one!
But the shirt is packed with features and details that make it a standout. Two useful chest pockets with button down flaps are big and strong enough to hold a cell phone in one pocket, and one of the small digital cameras in the other. A box pleated shirt-back makes for unrestricted movement, and the button down collar goes well with a tie if needed. Epaulettes lend a nice finishing touch to the shoulders.
The colors of these shirts are outstanding with their pastel softness that makes them look sun-drenched and worn. They have been pigment died and multi-washed to achieve this. For example, the blue is a rich cross between a blue sky and the turquoise that one finds in shallow reef water over a white sand bottom; the red is washed out "Nantucket", and the yellow a faded canary. Of course, the old standby is white. And each shirt has the famous Pusser's "Splice the Main Brace!" logo embroidered on the left chest pocket.
