Pussers-Powered Regatta the Best In Eastern Connecticut this Summer

The gentleman holding the trophy is Branford Yacht Club's own, Paul Jennings. Paul won the top honor of the evening, receiving the Overall Offshore Circuit trophy for ECSA. Of the eleven races that he sailed in this past summer he took two thirds, three seconds and six firsts to claim the overall trophy. He also won his own division handedly. Paul together with the regatta chairman Brian Prinze, his wife Cassey, and Chris Buydos, worked to create a regatta that was truly memorable - and award winning!

The Pusser's-sponsored Branford Invitational Regatta held in July has just been awarded the Richard H. Roberts Trophy for best Regatta Party of the 2005 season by the Eastern Connecticut Sailing Association (ECSA).

Beating 32 other regattas, this is a prestigious award as it is voted on by the entire membership of the ECSA. There was a great deal of buzz about the Pusser's Party after the regatta and there continued to be a great buzz at the awards ceremony on Saturday, November 5th..

The Thames, Essex and Ram Island are always favorites to win each year (they each have one more than once over the past few years), but not this year. Pusser's and the Branford Yacht Club have come out on top!

During the 2005 racing season the ECSA had 257 different boats take place in 30 different regattas from the Housatonic River to Stonington, CT.

The Richard H. Roberts trophy was introduced in 1992 to reward clubs for going above and beyond the traditional regatta party.�� �� Past winners include:
