The Pusser's Experience
The Pusser's Experience isn't any one thing, but rather a collection
of things and places from both the present and the past. A part of the
experience comes from sipping Pusser's Rum, either neat or in your
favorite cocktail, at a place and in surroundings that you enjoy. It can
be pleasing to know that when you drink Pusser's that you are really
drinking liquid history, that you are part of a continuous line that
carries forward from the living past and on to the next generation. You
are part of the flow. And if you like the lush tropics with its cobalt
sea and turquoise lagoons, and of course escape, and to relax in
island-wear clothes that feel like your best friends the first time you
put them on, then all this is Pusser's, too - and a part of the Pusser's
Experience. Here in the West Indies, we have our own beautiful, little
Pusser's places serving wonderfully fresh Caribbean food and drink, and
we have the fun of producing our own line of relaxed, tropical clothing
designed from our real-life experience here in the tropics. In picture
form, imagine yourself sitting back and relaxing in Pusser's island-wear
clothes, with your shoes off, a Pusser's Painkiller and a chicken Roti
with mango chutney in front of you, and - and Michael Bean serenading
you and a loved one with one of his island songs up on the summit of
Pusser's Marina Cay. Now that is the ultimate Experience! And if you
ever get to do it, you won't forget it.
It all started with the rum - Pusser's Rum - back in 1655.
After Pusser's Rum was first offered to the public just over twenty
years ago (before then, only the British Royal Navy served Pusser's to
its sailors), Pusser's opened its first bar. It
was a small affair of only four seats on Main Street in Road Town,
Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. (It’s still there, and has
expanded greatly to serve vacationers and locals alike every day.)
Shortly thereafter, Pusser's opened its first restaurant called Pusser's Landing
at West End, Tortola. With bold tastes and hints of European, African,
Indian and Chinese flavors, the Pusser's cuisine is as healthy as it is
pleasurable. Over the years, other island locations – each different –
have followed. Pusser's also launched a line of apparel, tropical gear,
spices, and artistic crafts that are sold in Pusser's Company stores in
Tortola.

The Pusser's experience flows from our legendary rum and extends to the
taste of the Caribbean. From the cuisine to the nightlife to the island
gear, the Pusser's experience harkens back to tropical places yet
unspoiled and to a sunny lifestyle of enjoyment in the balmy winds of
the West Indies.
